Baking and Cooking Day

Like I said in my last post I am organizing my life.  Yesterday was my baking and cooking day for the week.  I had extra work since we went to the farm over the weekend and picked up two and a half bushels of apples.  I got through about 1.75 bushels.  I saved a half bushel for eating (honeycrisp) and .25 for crockpot sauce and some pies.  I also picked my garden so I had peppers to chop and freeze.  Here are some of this things I got done:
Canned 21 jars of applesauce
Baked banana muffins and 2 loaves of bread
Made a loaf of whole wheat bread
Made two batches of choc. chunk cookies
Prepped peppers, tomatoes, jalapenos and mushrooms for this weeks meals
Cut up pineapple and have it in the dehydrator
Made a big batch of oatmeal and fruit toppings for breakfasts
Made jalapeno poppers

Meals for the week:
Monday-Leftovers
Tuesday-Tacos
Wednesday-Leftovers
Thursday-Spicy Peanut Chicken (our favorite)
Friday-????  Whatever we need to eat up
Saturday-Chili

Organizing Life

The past two weeks I have been working to organize and simplify my life.  I have set up a basic daily chore schedule for what needs to be accomplished.  I've found that by doing this I have even more time to spend with the kids.  Monday I do most of the cooking for the week.  This cuts down on cleaning the kitchen everyday, which saves me a lot of time.  Tuesday is shopping and organizing day (bills).  Wednesday is laundry day and cleaning bathrooms day (bath day for the kiddos).  Thursday is floor cleaning day (and yes it takes too long).  Friday is dusting and getting ready for the weekend day (bath day for the kiddos).  Having these basic goals everyday gets me up and moving in the morning.

Crafting + Adopting

The weather is starting to get cooler and that means I am starting to make crafts again.  I have found that making things helps me during this time of waiting.  It feels really good to make something and complete something when I have no control (with the adoption that is).
